February 27 marks World NGO Day

Every year, on February 27, World NGO Day is celebrated to recognize the contributions of NGOs. The day highlights the efforts of NGOs to address social, economic, and environmental issues and to promote humanitarian work in various sectors.

The role of NGOs in Georgia is critically important, as we create a safe and trusted space where people feel like members of society. We help people with diverse needs to achieve their professional or career aspirations, improve their socio-economic status, and live independent, fulfilling lives.

This year, World NGO Day 2025, serves to recognize the selfless work of individuals and groups who direct their efforts to create lasting change.

We are proud and grateful for the work and collaboration of civil society in Georgia, which strengthens the enthusiasm for the creation and development of public welfare.

For your information: World NGO Day was officially recognized in 2010, and was first celebrated on February 27, 2014. The idea for establishing this day belongs to Markis Liors Skadmanis, a social entrepreneur from Latvia, to recognize the important role of NGOs in global development.
