Entrepreneurship Week was held within the framework of the youth project

As you know, Saorsa Global is implementing the project “Youth Livelihoods – Create and Employ”, which is financially supported by the British Embassy in Georgia. 23 young people aged 18-29 were involved in the three-month socio-educational project. The goal of the project is to help them in their professional and career advancement.

The first activity within the project was held - Entrepreneurship Week. On the first day, young people visited three unique enterprises operating in Adjara. First, we visited the dried fruit factory “Kerki” in Keda, which produces ecologically clean products. The young people saw how high-quality Georgian dried fruits are created and how important it is to use local resources effectively. The next stop was the Agroservice Center in Kobuleti, where the project participants learned how the center helps farmers use modern agricultural technologies. Using the example of the factory, the young people saw how a small farm can turn into a big business.

Our third stop was at the family winery “Ana-Teo”, where Adjarian wine traditions, the unique history of the winery, and winemaking, which has become a family business, are combined. The project participants heard the successful story of the winery’s creation and development and, of course, tasted the wine.

On the second day of the Entrepreneurship Week, we visited two more important enterprises located in Keda and got to know their activities up close. Kai Free LLC is a potato receiving and processing enterprise, where young people got acquainted with the processes of product sorting and processing. They learned how raw materials are processed in accordance with market requirements. Using the example of the enterprise, the project participants received information about the components necessary for the development of modern agriculture.

The young people were also hosted by the Organic Aquaculture Development Association "Forage", which works on the development of sustainable fisheries. The project participants heard about how fish are raised using organic methods and the importance of protecting the ecosystem in aquaculture.
