Saorsa Global launches a new project aimed at empowering women in the Adjara region: “50 Women, 50 Villages and the Power of Resilience”

Gender equality, women's rights, their decent work, continuous and accessible education, employment opportunities are issues that we have been working on for years. In order to empower women, we have launched another project “50 Women, 50 Villages and the Power of Resilience – Strengthening Regional Feminist Leadership for Peacebuilding in the Adjara Region”, the financial support of which is provided by our loyal partner Women's Fund in Georgia.

We are embarking on an exciting, several-month journey, during which we will discover and share with you the unique stories of 50 women living in 50 different villages in the municipalities of the Adjara region.

Why women? Because they deserve more attention, listening, appreciation, and recognition.

Why villages? Because we hear women's voices less and less often from there.

The project aims to:Empowering young girls and women across the Jhara region to build feminist leadership and establish a non-violent environment. Saorsa Global will meet with local women in each selected village and conduct an educational campaign for them.

We invite you to follow the real stories of real people with us and get to know them up close. Discover with us their worries or joys, their dreams or daily difficulties. Over the course of several months, we will take a photo portrait of each woman participating in the project and invite you to a public exhibition so that you can see for yourself how many interesting people we have found.

So, here we go: The first stop of the project is Khelvachauri Municipality. The village of Kapreshumia
